right from the start

Since developing our first clinic in the heart of Bournemouth and establishing ourselves as a leading provider of care across many health sectors, footrescue® has grown into one of the most respected private Chiropody and Podiatry providers in the South of England area with a reputation that has attracted customers by word of mouth from as far afield as Basingstoke, West Sussex and London with clientele making the 2 hour journey on a regular basis.

the test of time

Our reputation for developing new services and constantly looking for original and exciting ways to deliver the best possible care to you has enabled footrescue® to win service contracts with large organisations such as Procter & Gamble and Sunrise Senior Living.

The core principal upon which we, at footrescue® developed our approach to Podiatry is that of reassurance. Having vast experience of clinical care in both the public and private sector, we footrescue® are ideally placed to address many of the issues faced by the NHS and provide a professional, easy-access service where you feel important and are assured that footrescue® cares about you and the outcome of your treatment.

our founding members

footrescue® is a lifestyle business and was developed from a concept by two of the UK’s leading Podiatrists Jim Leigh and Kay Leigh.

Kay Leigh – Clinical Director and Principle Podiatrist.

Before developing a successful private practice, Kay’s experience within Podiatry began by working as a Podiatry Assistant in the NHS. The regular interaction with patients and the satisfaction gained by making people feel comfortable spurred her onto a decision to study the subject in greater detail at one of the country’s leading schools of podiatry at Southampton University. Qualifying in 2005 with an Honours degree in Podiatry, she initially rejoined the NHS gaining experience in specialist areas such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and nail surgery. Kay provides clinics at our Bournemouth and Christchurch sites; she is a gentle, caring podiatrist who will ensure you get the very best out of your feet.

Jim Leigh – Managing Director and Specialist Podiatrist (Dermatology & Biomechanics)

Although firmly embedded in a successful private practice, Jim also began his NHS career working as a Podiatry Assistant before securing a secondment to train at the prestigious Chelsea School of Podiatric Medicine where he qualified in 1988 with a double distinction and the coveted Governor’s Award for outstanding academic achievement. His career has spanned over 18 years in the NHS where he quickly rose to become one of the most recognised Heads of Department in the UK with a reputation for service redesign and challenging NHS systems. This led to his involvement on the council for the professional body within the UK and his membership of many senior ‘think tank’ groups associated with the profession.

His keen interest in dermatology has enabled him to become a respected specialist in the treatment of skin and nail conditions and his challenging approach to treatment modalities has enabled him to develop new and effective methods for assessing the biomechanics of the body and lower limb.
